Maxbond PV is an APP polymer modified bituminous waterproofing sheet with high heat resistance to suit
application in warm tropical climate. The membrane is reinforced with an embedded non-woven spun bond
polyester fabric that is dimensionally stable to improve tensile strength, tear and puncture resistance. Available
in various thickness with sanded or polyethylene finish for conceal applications and mineral slates for expose
roofing.

Surface Preparation
The surface must be sound, clean, dry and gradient to falls. Concrete must be fully cured and free of defects.
Rough surfaces and sharp protrusion must be grinded smooth. Cement laitance, loose material, mildew, oil, grease etc. must be removed. Construct mortar fillets at inside corners and round out external edges to prevent membrane fracture.
Priming
Just prior to membrane installation, prime the surface with Maxbond BT Primer at a rate of 6 to 8m² per liter. Let primer achieve touch-dry condition and keep primed surface dust free and dry until installation.
The Installation
Maxbond PV Membrane should always be applied from the lowest point to prevent overlaps from trapping water.
Align sheet in staggered layout with minimum 80mm side laps and 100mm end laps.
To install the membrane, roll back aligned sheets and blow torch the underside at 150 to 300mm distance. Pass the torch from side to side until the underside film melts and fluid bitumen becomes visible. Immediately move the roll forward, applying downward pressure to achieve a good bond. Fuse the seams with a metal spatula and ensure bonded membrane is flat with no entrapped air pocket.
Protection
Maxbond PV mineral finished membrane is UV resistant and can be exposed to sunlight and pedestrian traffic.
Sanded and polyethylene finished membrane must be protected from UV exposure with Maxbond ALU coating or other architectural finishes to provide complete protection against UV radiation. In below-grade or planter applications, protect the membrane from damage with mortar render, drainage layer or protective boards before backfilling.
Storage
Store rolls upright in a cool and dry space away from sunlight and UV radiation.
Health & Safety
Heavy load: Transfer membrane roll with mechanical lifter or manually with multiple personnel.
Fire Hazzard: Application by flame torch. Follow fire safety rules and procedures.
